Eventually, we always tend to go back to being intentional. No matter how much time a beauty trial took, no matter how good the makeup look turned out to be, we intuitively start caring more about how all the ingredients used feel. And that is the most important detail to pay attention to.
That’s what mindful beauty, a new approach to deliberated self-care aims to raise awareness on.
What is Mindful Beauty?
As we’re part of the beauty reality where everything takes form out of beauty forums or social media platforms, we may come through specific topics that may raise interest. Rose quartz crystals, daily gratitude journaling, or even guided meditations, all fall down to one truth – applying mindfulness can help you reach milestones in whatever trial you practice.
Multiply beauty routines with that, and you’ll have fun plus glam time.
Mindful beauty is all about being present and conscious about the products you use and how you use them. It’s important that you slow down and consider that a beauty routine is supposed to give off relaxation and a glimpse of calmness, rather than frustration and hurries.
Luckily, with several techniques, you can approach mindful beauty and find out that me-time doesn’t have to be rush time.
1. Subliminals or Ease Frequencies
There’s just something in the air when you listen to a calm soundtrack and you beat your face to it. And most of the time, the bronzing placement turns out perfect, the primer consistency seems to be applied just right, and our makeup brushes look like they’re all where we left them, probably because we started off from a peaceful inner energy.
Taking care of what you listen to is taking care of how you radiate a holistic glow. That’s why listening to subliminals, therapeutic sounds, or even calm frequencies is a great step in seeing how far being calm can influence your physical looks.
2. Aromatherapy Candles all Over the Place
As a rule of thumb, specific aromas can tend to boost up your energy and influence on specific chemical reactions. Without falling into the rabbit holes of science, we might all agree that a good-smelling glam corner can run miles. Speaking of glam corners, some good candles will actually romanticize things.
3. Massaging
Whenever we have a date and we’re late to it, we have a bunch of assignments to submit, or we’re just hurrying up to show up at work, we tend to make these unnatural facial expressions due to pressure, which later add up on really creating some specific skin creases, or if that’s not the case – those facial expressions don’t even look good at the time being.
A good essential oil massage can never disappoint. With various massage techniques that exist, you can start to implement them into your routine.
The temples of your face -the areas between your forehead and ears, placed at both sides of your face – are a good starting point for a massage. You can continue putting some gentle pressure on your forehead, maintaining the same stability on all facial muscles you feel needy of composure.
Being anti-aging, soothing, and helpful with various skin types and their conditions, essential oils are also put to good use with the aroma they offer, promising a relaxing perspective to the skin. That’s why I have listed some of my favorite essential oil scents below:
- Lavender Essential Oil – With its so-called, backed up-by-science, alleviating properties, a lavender essential oil scent is always there to be equal with a time-off, energy-boosting break. Not to mention the fairytale bouquet it comes with, this essential oil aroma gives an enormous face illumination when applied to the skin.
- Peppermint Essential Oil– This fancy, clean aroma will promise an anti-inflammatory quality to your skin, along with its rich soothing ingredients.
- Ylang Ylang Essential Oil– Regulating oil production on the skin, an ylang-ylang essential oil scent offers this sweet aroma of the floral perfume family. A nose that is intentional with fragrances, can detect a background of earthly notes. Resembling essential oil scents can be Jasmine, Rose or even Geranium.
- Cinnamon Essential Oil – Cinnamon essential oil increases blood flow, and provides good moisture for the skin, while also treating skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, or even skin inflammations. Its aroma is mostly sweet.
4. Breathing
There is nothing a breathwork moment can’t fix. Any breathwork technique aims to put the focus on your physical, mental, and spiritual wellness. While this resonates with all the routines in your daily life, it would be perfect if performed during or before your beauty routine, let it be skincare or makeup.
In conclusion, you can rock your makeup look or skincare routine, while being a well-being guru on your inner self. As much as we try to give all the focus on being picky with the products we choose for ourselves, we should be intentional with the ingredients we’re exposing our skin to, since well-being and prettiness go hand-in-hand.
